A typical session

What happens in a session.

Charles welcomes everyone in. There's usually a minute or two of quiet, while people arrive.

Then about twenty minutes of guided meditation — sometimes a body scan, sometimes a breath practice, sometimes something else. Each week is a little different.

Then a short reflection. Anyone can speak who wants to. No one has to.

Then we're done. You go back to whatever Monday was going to be, slightly less wound up than when you arrived.

Momenting, in practice

Momenting is getting stuck in traffic and going, well, alright then. It's forgetting the attachment and not hating yourself for it. The smell of coffee in the morning, the warmth of your own bed.

Small things, mostly. They're what fatigue takes first, and the first to come back.

A quiet thirty minutes at the start of the week. Drop in once, or every week. No experience needed. No camera needed if you'd rather not.

Mondays, 12 noon to 12:30, on Zoom. First session 6th July.

If you're new

If you've never done this before.

Most people who join their first session have never meditated. You don't need to sit cross-legged. You don't need to close your eyes. You don't need to chant, breathe in a special way, or feel anything in particular.

It's mostly just sitting still for a bit, with someone gently pointing your attention at useful things.

If it isn't for you, you can leave the call any time. Nobody minds.
